Music for a Mission: A Community Celebration of Autism in the Arts

October 11, 2016 //  by Ron Woods

The “Music for a Mission” benefit concert at BlackRock Center for the Arts was a rousing success! World-caliber performers, members of the community, and Madison House Autism Foundation (MHAF) came together for a remarkable celebration of music and art. Those who attended also received a sneak preview of “Imagine 21,” the 2017 traveling art show that features 21 works by artists on the autism spectrum. The “Imagine 21” show is part of MHAF’s Arts for Autism program and emphasizes “21” to raise awareness of the thousands of autistic adults who lose federally mandated services at age 21. Proceeds from the event benefited MHAF.

We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to Shaun Tirrell, Harvey and Fern Levine, Eric Himy, Ernest Barretta, and Michael Roth. This event wouldn’t have been possible without your kindness and generosity. Take a look below to see gorgeous photos from this magical day (photography by Jonathan Adamson).

The fourth photograph has a painting by Eric Anderson: “Frog on a Branch”. There is so much humour in this piece!
