Artist John McNair Ratcliff is a career mortgage banking executive who was shocked to discover his artistic side and has enjoyed exploring it over the past year. He works mostly with pencil, pen and alcohol-based markers. His favorite subject matter includes animals, architecture and Día De Los Muertos inspired scenes.
John currently resides in his hometown Cleveland, OH with his wife and son. They spent 14 years living in Colorado and have also resided in California and Illinois.
Drawing enables John to relax and helps clear his head while navigating this crazy world, trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. He enjoys creating personalized pieces for his friends and family. His favorite artists include Andrew and Jamie Wyeth for their portrayal of life in his beloved Maine, where his family has a cabin. John also draws inspiration from traditional tattoo art and is a collector.
Furthermore, John’s interests include reading, music, skateboarding, baking and Formula 1. His happy place is curled up on the couch with a good book and a nice cup of coffee.
