SHAWN PAYNE may be a quiet person but he certainly enjoys making fashion statements, which is evident in his propensity for creating designer shoes. You can find them everywhere, primarily on paper, but also on chairs, boxes, growing from trees, and even replacing the stars on Old Glory. He’s hoping that someday people will be wearing his creations.
Shawn Payne works as an artist at Art Enables in Washington, DC. Shawn regularly exhibits locally in group shows, including the 0ff-Rhodes Gallery and the Visionary Art Museum’s BAZAAR T holiday show. In 2011, he had his international debut exhibiting original artwork at the Museum of Everything in London, United Kingdom. He also has pieces permanently on display in collections at the Apollo and the Department of Disability Services.
