MONA CATHERINE BROOKS spent her childhood in Bangladesh as an expatriate, attended Dreyfus British School, where she began music training in violin and piano, and received certificates from Peabody Preparatory for advanced viola and intermediate piano in the high school program.
After accepting admission to McDaniel College in 2011, Mona faced significant challenges in making transitions from high school to adult life. Needing additional support, counseling services and treatment to make the transition, her teams at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Child and Adolescent Program and Good Shepherd Services have worked with her through the past five years.
Mona is now in college, maintaining a 3.2 GPA at CCBC and she plans to finish a bachelor’s degree after completing her associate degree. Her talents include visual arts and crafts. She wants to become an independent artisan selling her arts and crafts locally.
